Description:
A collection of tools to create species range maps based onoccurrence data statistics and spatial objects. Other tools in thiscollection can be used to analyze the environmental characteristics ofthe species ranges. Plotting options to represent results in variousmanners are also available. Results obtained using these tools can beused to explore the distribution of species and define areas of occupancyand extent of occurrence of species. Other packages help to explore speciesdistributions using distinct methods but options presented in this set oftools e.g. using trend surface analysis and concave hull polygons areexclusive. Description of methods approaches and comments for some of thetools implemented here can be found inIUCN 2001 httpsportals.iucn.orglibrarynode10315Peterson et al. 2011 httpswww.degruyter.comprincetonupviewtitle506966and Graham and Hijmans 2006 doi10.1111j.1466-8238.2006.00257.x.
